Dr. Dvora Laboratories – Beit Jann
The romance between the Galilee flora and Dr. Ziad Dabour began many years ago, in fact, with his very birth on the heights of Mount Meron in the Galilee. Ziad, a son of a Druze family, was born and raised in the village of Beit Jann, in the heart of the Mount Meron Reserve, the largest nature reserve in the country, rich in medicinal plants.
Ziad spent his childhood years close to his grandfather, a farmer deeply connected to the Galilee soil. Grandfather and grandson worked side by side in the vineyards, fields, and goat pastures. This is how Dabour became acquainted with the diverse plants of the Galilee, hearing and collecting the piquant and juicy plant stories from the “grandmothers” and elders of the community. The treasures of traditional knowledge, passed down orally for hundreds of years within the Druze community and among the residents of the Galilee, also reached Ziad, who, even in his childhood, showed an intense curiosity for researching the effects of plants on the human body.
Years later, Ziad fulfilled his curiosity by studying pharmacology and medicinal plants, eventually earning a Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the Technion. Today, he has realized a childhood dream to combine and merge his rich professional experience and knowledge with the natural treasures of the Galilee and the long-standing traditional stories he grew up with.
To deepen his knowledge and uncover the secrets of Galilee plants and their dermo-cosmetic properties, Dr. Dabour traveled among the villages of the Galilee. During his many tours, he formulated a unique approach to beauty care, created by nature itself. The application of grandmother’s tales and ancient methods practiced in the Mediterranean basin for thousands of years are implemented by Dr. Dabour using 21st-century tools. A deep understanding of the natural ingredients that contribute to the biochemical and physiological processes of the skin serves as an inexhaustible resource in the development and production of unique product lines for maintaining skin health and a youthful appearance.
The outcome of this immense life experience and professional expertise is Dr. Dabour Laboratories Ltd. and the Visitor Center in Beit Jann, in the heart of the Mount Meron Nature Reserve.
