Moshav Amirim, a small leap abroad in Israel
The new northern roads have brought Amirim within touching distance of central Israel. When you arrive in the Galilee, you will feel the difference: the green landscape everywhere, the clear air, and even the light is different in the Galilee. When you arrive in Amirim, open the window, listen to the birdsong, breathe deeply the clear mountain air, and get intoxicated by the charming view visible from every corner. All this is here in our small country; there’s no need to travel abroad…

This viewpoint is named after Captain Menachem Kashtan, an Amirim native who fell in the Yom Kippur War.
The monument is in the shape of a Shahak aircraft whose nose points towards the Kinneret, with parts of it made from Kashtan’s original plane. From here, the Kinneret is clearly visible, as are Nahal Amud and many impressive cliffs. The site has benches and trees that provide shade on hot days. The airplane monument serves as a memorial site for the name and deeds of the late Captain Menachem Kashtan. Address: Ha’Oranim Street at its intersection with Mitzpe Menachem Street, at the upper end of both streets.
