2 Viewpoints Overlooking the Sea of Galilee: “Mitzpe Menachem” and “Mitzpe Kinneret”<\/h2>\n

5 minutes by car from Or Bereshit Cabins in Amirim in the North<\/p>\n

Not far from the Sculpture Garden in Amirim are two viewpoints: Mitzpe Menachem and Mitzpe Kinneret.<\/p>\n

Mitzpe Menachem: <\/strong>At the eastern edge of Moshav Amirim, on one of the spurs of Mount Mitzpe Yamim, Mitzpe Menachem was established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\"\u05dc\u05d5\u05d2\u05d5<\/strong><\/td>\n\"\"<\/strong><\/td>\n\"\u05e0\u05d5\u05e3<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n

This viewpoint is named after Captain Menachem Kashtan, a pilot from Amirim who fell in the Yom Kippur War.
\nThe monument is in the shape of a Shahak aircraft whose nose points towards the Sea of Galilee, with parts of it made from Kashtan’s original plane. From here, the Sea of Galilee is clearly visible, as are Nahal Amud and many impressive cliffs. There are benches and trees that provide shade on hot days. The airplane monument serves as a memorial site to the name and deeds of the late Captain Menachem Kashtan. Address: Ha’Alonim Street at its intersection with Mitzpe Menachem Street, at the upper end of both streets. <\/p>\n

Mitzpe Kinneret: <\/strong>Not far from Mitzpe Menachem is Mitzpe Kinneret. The viewpoint is built as a natural amphitheater. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Relax on the benches and surrender to the charming view of Mount Kamon on the left, Mount Kfir, and Metzudat Shefer. To the south, you can see the Arbel and the Sea of Galilee. If you look north, you will see the Golan Heights. Directly below us are the kibbutzim Parod and Moran, Havat Ein, and Kamonim. In Mitzpe Kinneret, during July and August, on Friday evenings, “Music at Sunset” performances are held. This performance combines various ensembles of musicians playing diverse styles of light and airy music, with flute, harmonica, and guitar. Admission to the performance is free, and seating is on the grassy areas with a view of the spectacular landscape. Due to the weather tending to be cool at sunset, it is recommended to bring some warm clothing with you.

Three Forest Trails for Hiking<\/h2>\n

4-5 minutes by car from Or Bereshit Cabins in Amirim in the North<\/p>\n

In Amirim, there are three hiking trails in nature reserves that were cleared and prepared by the members and residents of the moshav. The trails lead into natural woodland, among trees, shrubs, and seasonal blooms, with an uninterrupted view of a stunning landscape.
\n<\/a>The Hidden Trail:<\/strong> A trail that starts at the end of Mitzpe Kinneret Street. The Hidden Trail is a path within a natural forest that ends at a beautiful viewpoint.
\nThe Forest Trail:<\/strong> In northern Amirim, an extension of Ha’Alonim Street, a winding trail emerges in the heart of a natural Mediterranean forest, offering a beautiful view of the entire Moshav Amirim, the Mount Meron ridge, the Sea of Galilee, the southern Golan Heights, and the Lower Galilee mountains.
